  • Responsible for creating an enterprise analytic solution and prototyping of various analytic assets. 
  • Learn business processes, existing underlying data structures, and seek technical requirements from subject matter experts from other areas.
  • Frame analyses independently; perform and check own work with adequate documentation of process(es) and key assumptions. 
  • Using experience working with imperfect data, pragmatically solve issues.
  • Address ad hoc analyses needs as they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Following blueprint designs from Director/Manager, quickly create prototypes for enterprise level analytic solutions, utilizing multiple data sources. 
  • Iteratively build up complex ETL processes, check the accuracy of the steps.
  • Make suggestions on data manipulations that best serve the business requirements.
  • Handle data imperfections pragmatically.
  • Document the ETL process timely and adequately.
  • Work on iterative enhancements of analytics assets over time.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in identifying issues and providing recommendations for solutions.
  • May lead, guide, and mentor other staff/analysts.
  • Address ad-hoc analyses needs as they arise.
  • Manage semi-automated data ETL jobs that are not ready for full automation.
  • Support analysts from other areas on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, IT, Computer Science or a related field required; Master’s preferred
  • Certification / portfolio in Data Science, Business Intelligence, desirable
  • 10 – 12+ years of relevant professional work experience required
  • 5+ years of Data Analytics experience in the health insurance industry, and/or managed-care environment required
  • SAS and/or SQL expert level skills required
  • Ability to lead, train, mentor, and manage staff preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Outlook) with expertise in Excel required
  • Able to frame analyses based on business requirements and database knowledge to generate actionable insights required
  • Experience managing large amounts of data and proficiency using data access tools required
  • Experience with BI visualization tools such as Tableau required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences required
  • Data Science, Predictive Analytics, Machine-learning, AI certification programs preferred
  • Experience using new generation BI/analytics software, such as Python, Looker, Knime preferred
